Comeback Title for Dragons!
The Dunberry Dragons are back-to-back champions as they score a 37-27 comeback victory over the River Heights Warriors. The Warriors were humming in the first half as they jumped out to a 21-6 lead. Their first score came off a 69 yard bomb that helped them draw first blood. Then their second TD came as a result of a drive stopping interception. But, the Dragons managed to scrape together 13 points and trailed by only eight at the half. Then, in the third quarter, Dunberry shifted their offense into gear and stole the momentum with two consecutive TD's to take a 27-21 lead into the fourth quarter. One of the TD's came as a result of a Dragons pick-off in their own territory. Also, the Dunberry 'D' stiffened and held the Warriors scoreless for the quarter. They would only give up 6 points in the second half. However, up 30-24 the Dragons went for the jugular as their QB threw deep and hit his receiver on a 69 yard TD bomb. That would prove the final blow as it completely deflated the River Heights defense. The Dragons would allow another FG late, but by that time the game was clearly in their hands. The Dragons passed for 354 yards, 3 TDs and rushed for 78 yards and 1 TD. This victory gives the Dragons their third Metro Bowl title in franchise history. Next, they travel home to celebrate with their fans in a Main Street parade.... GAME STATS
