National Map

Welcome to the Metropolitan Republic, a vibrant fictional country in the Atlantic!....

Stadiums & Fields

Every team has its own unique stadium, perfectly tailored to its home field vibe. The customized stadiums make every game more fun and immersive, turning each matchup into a true home-field showdown.

Custom Uniforms

Every fictional team rocks its own custom uniform set. A cool tradition? The classic three-quarter sleeve jerseys have been a league staple since day one. Gotta love that timeless look!

Game Schedule

Every team battles all their conference rivals and two from the other conference in a custom 13-game schedule.

Playoffs & Metro Bowl

I use the custom playoff bracket feature for the postseason. Here's the setup I use....

The top 10 teams (five from each conference) make the playoffs. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seeds get a first-round bye, while the 4th and 5th seeds battle it out in Round 1. Winners move on to face the top seeds in Round 2. Those victors advance to their conference championship. The two conference champs then clash for the ultimate prize in the Metro Bowl, always held at a neutral stadium—fittingly called The Metro Bowl.

Rookie Draft

Currently PSF runs a 7 round rookie draft after the season. Teams draft from worst to first based on season record.

Creating Fictional Players

I'm in this hobby because it's a blast. Naming and creating fictional players is super fun, especially since most are randomly generated by the PSF sim engine, adding some cool surprises. Sometimes, I'll create a future star and throw them into the rookie draft, which instantly shakes things up in the Metro Football League. After that, I let them do their thing—no more messing around from me. It's awesome watching their careers play out!

Assigning/Awarding Fictional Faces

PSF doesn’t do faces for players or coaches, so I handle it myself in my league. I keep it simple: I give faces to all starting offensive skill players (QB1, HB1, FB1, TE1, SE1, WR1) and defensive players with a 90+ rating. This covers most players who show up in the play-by-play. Players can also earn a face by winning MVP in a postseason game, and all head coaches get a face too!

Thanks for taking the time to read this document. Also, thanks to Kerry Batts for developing such a fantastic football sim that supports us in this exciting hobby. Send questions, comments to Jon Johnson
